For Boarders By Boarders

If you're a keen snow boarder, or indeed any boarder for that matter then check out For Boarders By Boarders. Founded in 2006 by three friends that are well used to riding together in some of the UK's best snow parks, For Boarders By Boarders (FBBB) was born on the desire and vision to create a unique event that was based purely on the priority of having fun.

"FBBB voyages to wherever they can frolic (snowdomes, dry slopes, skate parks, art galleries etc) to host events that feature live music, art, and just about anything that has to do with snowboarding and skating.
Part of the concept is to promote the UK scene and push progression. To raise awareness for snowboarding and everything related to it. Creating a platform for the community of snowboard lovers, riders, brands, artists, bands, photographers and filmmakers.
"

Having just taken the FBBB party to Snowdome in Tamworth over the weekend, the crew will be moving on to the following venues over the next few months before the final event at SNO!zone in Milton Keynes.

July 12th - Skaterham, Caterham (Skate jam in the church)
August 14th - SNO!zone, Castleford, Leeds
August 29th & 30th - Snowworld, Landgraaf, Holland (Park re-opening jam)
September 5th - Chill Factor E, Manchester
October 10th - SNO!zone, Milton Keynes (Finals)

At each event the crew bring a sound system and DJ's to entertain the boarders while on the slopes and some of that is broadcast live on internet radio station NBS Radio. There are also competitions and prizes for each event including your chance to ride for free at the final event in Milton Keynes.

Michael Jackson R.I.P.

Michael Joseph Jackson: August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009 R.I.P

Irrespective of his troubled life and media portrayal Jackson is still without a doubt one, if not the greatest artist of our generation. After working almost 40 years under the scrutiny of the public eye, may he finally rest in peace.

Starks & Nacey

Another artist that has recently been drawn to my attention is Nacey. His remix of Dance Area's 'AA 24/7' for Discobelle's competition got in at 3rd place and although the first and second were good, I definitely preferred the old school sample sound this track favoured. I was therfore quite pleased to get some original productions from Nacey and his party companion Starks in my mailbox this morning. Here's a bit of info about the duo.

Starks & Nacey are two-thirds of Nouveau Riche, a monthly party in Washington, DC, started in 2006 by fellow DJ Gavin Holland. In 2008, the party was awarded "Best Dance Night" in the City Paper’s "Best of DC" issue, and the two have been described by the Washington Post as “some of the District’s more prolific DJs.” Starks & Nacey are known for their high-energy sets and have shared the stage with the likes of The Count & Sinden, AC Slater, Nadastrom, MSTRKRFT, Blaqstarr, Miami Horror, Scottie B and Eli Escobar to name a few. Their productions have won contests on Discobelle and Mad Decent, and recently appeared on Fool's Gold label head Nick Catchdubs's Australian Tour Mix. Their debut EP keeps things moving with an introduction to the duo’s distinctive styles, and their attitude of having fun in the club."

More Than Friends

Fukkk Offf

A couple of weeks late posting this I know but, I've been getting into these tracks after constant looping in my playlists. I first heard of Germany's Fukkk Offf when I heard the Zodiac Cartel remix of his track 'Rave Is King'. I initially favoured the latter but the original is an anthem in it's own right and it even had success at number 1 in the German Club Charts. Anyway, his debut album 'Love Me, Hate Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me.' was released on June 8 on NYC’s Coco Machete Records and you can get over at Beatport.

Also head over to the Fairtilizer site to check out his live set from Graz, plus heaps of remixes of his tracks.
