There's something in the air

A couple of weeks ago I braved the freezing cold snap that hit the UK to finally get to see Digitalism play live at Durrr after missing them at their festival set's in the summer. I queued for an hour and finally got into the warm, grabbed a couple of beers and caught up with Kissy Sell Out (who was there as a patron rather than his usual floor filling Dj role) before the German duo took to the stage.

Playing live Digitalism fuse a selection of their album tracks together with a few surprises, notably samples of: Technotronic 'Pump Up The Jam' and Daft Punk's 'Da Funk' more or less following the example set by Soulwax's Nite Versions. Never the less it was an awesome set and I left satisfied, if not a little eager to see them at a bigger venue. Lucky for me they are currently touring the US and will be back for some European dates in November check their Myspace for details.

Their album 'Idealism' is out now on Kitsuné.

Also, if you love black & white graphics as much as I do check out this brilliantly animated advert for Pontiac by Stardust featuring 'Pogo' as the soundtrack. There's a better quality vid on their website along with heaps of other gorgeous animated music videos and advertisements.
