Its competition time kids! Here's the info:
San Miguel Hidden Depths, together with It's Pop It's Art and Airside, has launched an exciting nationwide design competition with the aim of discovering and developing emerging young talent within the UK. The challenge, set by Fred Deakin himself, is to design a new It's Pop It's Art style print which explores the song "War" by Edwin Starr. The winning print will be made commercially available as part of the It's Pop It's Art range and the winner will also receive a design fee for their creation.
Fred Deakin, co-founder of It's Pop It's Art, said: "At Airside we're always on the look out for new design talent. We want people to explore the 'Hidden Depths' of the music and express it on canvas. There is a pool of untapped talent out there and we hope this competition can break into that. "We're looking for something unique, something inspired, something that visually captures the essence of Edwin's words."
Entrants will be asked to go to Sanmiguel.co.uk to submit their competition entry, following the design brief, between now and the 3rd of September 2008.It's Pop It's Art and Airside will then select a shortlist of prints to be exhibited at their San Miguel Hidden Depths event, at London's Amersham Arms on Thursday 18th September.
Deakin, along with illustrator designer Kate Moross, will be amongst the special guest judges selecting the winner on the night. The competition celebrates the final San Miguel Hidden Depths event of 2008, curated by It's Pop It's Art with special guest Sam Sparro.
